Danksagung
(02.02.2016)
einzge Weg ins Leben
Friday, 2.6.2017, Calvi dell'Umbria
When I woke up today and crawled out of my tent, I was welcomed by a black bull again - but he didn't care for me, the fresh green grass was much more interesting. So I could enjoy the morning sun and my coffee, while thinking bout what happened to me. The poem that introduce todays entry I did write last year, can't summarize any better how I'm feeling.
Because we shortened yesterdays walk, we had a very long distance ahead today - and we decided to do it the relaxed way. As there was no possibility to stay somewhere before Calvi which was about 40km away, we made the plan to walk only to Stroncone and then take a bus. But sometimes things that sound easy turn out different.
The beginning was a nice downhill walk for about 10 km, the difficulties came afterwards. Finding the bus and driving the first part to Terni was no problem, but then we found out that our wanted Bus was not driving today. We weren't aware that Italy was celebrating its change from monarchy to republic at the 2th of June and that changed the bus schedules drastically. So there were no connection or at least it seemed so. Even with translation help of my cousin we had to improvise. To get closer to our goal we took a train to Narni, because it looked like that at least from there a bus would possible. Turned out as a wrong thought, there it was even worse, all connections were not working because of the celebrations. Finally we had to take a taxi for the last part, fortunately that wasn't so expensive and it brought us to Calvi dell'Umbria quite quickly.
But with all this getting in and out and finding possibilities, it took us all day to reach the city. At least we learned a lot about the Italian transport system and a little bit about its modern history :). And it was a funny change from camping to being driven in a luxurious BMW :D.
Tomorrow will be walking time again, well recovered and with fresh energy!
Pictures follow
